STUDY
Weight training v. Training with FORTEX*
OBJECTIVE
To compare the effects of resistance training using machine weights and using FORTEX on upper body muscle performance.
METHOD
30 healthy men who were not already involved in any form of fitness training.
For 8 weeks:
- some trained with FORTEX, following the recommended product guidelines
- some trained with regular weights, following guidelines set by the American College of Sports Medicine
- the rest, the 'control' group, did no weight training at all.
RESULTS
Overall, the men who trained with FORTEX showed the most significant improvement in upper body muscle performance, strength and definition.
- The FORTEX group had greater improvement in muscle performance than the group who trained with regular weights.
- 100% of the men who trained with FORTEX had improved body shape after 8 weeks.
- 27% improvement in overhead push exercise in just 4 weeks.
- The FORTEX group had stronger biceps after 8 weeks than the group who used regular weights.
- Not surprisingly, the 'control' group showed no improvement at all.
