| There is no display or sound from the unit | Check the battery. Always use a high-quality, long-life battery. |
| The display is on and there is no sound | Check if the Mute function is on. |
| The unit will not function | Check the Exercise Direction Selector is set correctly to either Push or Pull. |
| A triangular warning symbol flashes on the display | Excessive force has been applied. |
